Welcome to MamaDances
Mothers Day, Fathers Day, Journée nationales des patriotes, Fête Nationale, Summer Solstice; Its a time of celebration; my birthday, Chelsea's birthday, my mom's birthday; a time of reflexion; Oprah, Cirque du Soleil, Billie Eilish, the Raptors NBA Championship!...A time of inspiration….
This summer MamaDances offers one course in each program at Parc Jarry, plus the Annual Montreal Teachers Training August 5-17 at UQAM. Otherwise, I will be focused on my Masters Degree thesis. My project is in the data analysis stage and a year behind schedule. The process has been agonizingly slow, yet exciting and rewarding. My doubts and insecurities are slipping away. The data is showing that MamaDances Mom and Baby Dance workshop is of marvellous benefit in so many ways that I never even imagined. I cannot wait to share my discoveries!
Yoko, my teenage daughter, got involved in Greta Thunberg inspired activism. In speaking with my friend Jungle, I realized, letting her cut school to go to the protest was not good enough. Jungle Tschongo, and my other friend, Jennifer Wilson Roberge, have succeeded in eliminated almost all plastic wrapped food items from their daily lives. So Yoko and I are taking small steps to start. Protesting must be accompanied by real actions, or else it's just another day of distraction. So, striving for cohesion, we’ve been cutting down on our climate change contributing habits. That means better meal planning, more vegetarian recipes, conscious spending and finding ways to avoid buying plastic. That was really hard for Chelsea’s birthday.
I also had a birthday recently. I’m not shy to say my age, but I’ve not been shy in the past to say many things and it's gotten me into trouble. Let's just say I’m aging and my body is changing. In the aging process I'm making more effort to stay in line with the mainstream social protocols, at least occasionally. Along with some tempering of my rebel, the values are shifting a little and I feel the need for stability and routine that will allow for more ritual, peace and harmony. So, it's been a time of blossoming and self-discovery. The more I learn, the more I can give to my children, my family and my community. Being a dance artist, entrepreneur and mother, calls for a lot of strength, faith, and patience. It requires constantly checking in with my authenticity, being present to the power of the moment, to stay in the flow of life. In this society, where money has been permitted to be the master of time, and care is taken for granted, I am inspired by Oprah when she said recently, in her visit to Montreal… "We must be a light carrier in this world of darkness" and by Anna Maria Tremonte, journalist of The Current who said in her departing speech today… “We learn in the silences. Take the time to listen.”
Thank you for carrying. And caring. Have a wonderful summer! Lots of love. Be safe. Eryn

Mom and Baby Dance Teachers Training Online Program
Available NOW!
I know. Crazy right? An online dance program??? I never woulda' dreamt it
Todays technological world is so marvellous for bringing like-minded people together to share knowledge! This opportunity allows those those of you who can't travel to Montreal to do the training anyway. The Internet is so awesome for sharing knowledge! Who'd a thunk it?
This teachers training program is 4 years in the making, and as you know I have been teaching for over 12 years now, so it culminates years of experience!
And guess what?
We currently have 5 teachers already doing the training online and so far everyone is very satisfied.
What a relief...
Our first teachers, training online, are in Toronto, Spain, Quebec, Brazil
and England and I barely started telling people about it.
CAROLINE BARBER is the first to complete the online program and get her classes up and running!
CONGRATULATIONS CAROLINE!

- Visibility on the MamaDances website
- A MamaDances Certificate of Completion
Caroline's Testimonial:
When I enrolled myself in the MamaDances course, I didn’t completely know what to expect! After watching the first few videos, I immediately felt as though Eryn and I had shared passions and interests. I had no dance experience, other than enjoying dance. The videos, with all of the fascinating content, helped me to understand the background and helped to bring everything together for me. I felt able and capable to teach the course. The support from Eryn has been so useful and wonderful, so encouraging and motivating! I absolutely loved the course, and would highly recommend it! Thank you Eryn for the course, clearly a labour of love! - Caroline in London

Montreal Update
- A new MamaDances business plan has been written by students of The John Molson School of Business at Concordia!
- Our collaboration with The National Center for Dance Therapy was postponed to the Fall giving us the opportunity to further define our mission and program.
- One of my wishes came true when Karin Gausterer began her first MamaDances sessions in German last season: MamaTanzt !
- Another group of Skinner Releasing Technique enthusiasts joined me at at Studio 303 and reminded me, again, how rich and nourishing that practice is.

Testimonial
I had the privilege of attending MamaDances with Eryn Dace Trudell some months after the birth of my children. Each of the class hours was for me and my children unique and privileged moments, allowing me: - A refreshing break in the demanding life of a parent of a newborn - Unforgettable moments of play and creativity shared with a little child who has just been born - Extraordinary moments of closeness with my children, promoting mutual attachment - time to take care of myself after the demanding transformational experience of childbirth, the demands of breastfeeding on the body, and family adjustments following the birth of children.
