2. Spice Kapita Celebrate boys dancing! Spice Kapita. That Dancin’ Guy, is a 36-page, hard cover, picture book written by Lp Camozzi from Montreal and illustrated by his fine artist daughter Marielle. Since beginning his career as a children’s singer/songwriter/author Lp has focused on mentoring and encouraging boys through his art. Visit www.lpcamozzi.com for more info. Over six months of research in the dance library at the L’École Supèrieure de Ballet Contemporain in Montréal helped build the story of Spice Kapita – who literally grows up by dancing his way around the world. Follow Spice as he discovers everything from religion, to manhood to combat in dance. All beautifully illustrated in the artistic style of each country he visits. Spice Kapita was long-listed for the 2012 Ontario Blue Spruce Award, is sold in the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Montreal and is approaching bestseller status for a picture book in the province of Quebec. It is a fun, colourful addition to any dancer’s library. |
|
Teachers will bring Spice Kapita books to class and they can be purchased for 15$ in person. On our website, they are sold at 15$+tx and pastage. |
