Artistic Director's Message
Dear Toronto Friends, Family, Students, Colleagues and Collaborators,
Today I felt Spring. The sun was powerfully warm and the snow began its surrender to melting. Letting go of holding against the cold, I felt the inside and the outside merging peacefully together. I imagined myself leaving the house, with only a brief pause to open the door. I saw myself at ease and at play. Spring is here and summer is coming. We made it.
I always feel too far away from you all in Toronto. I look forward to our paths crossing, either by way of MamaDances or Skinner Releasing Technique or by Contact Improvisation. I will be celebrating Spring in motion which will surely take me to Toronto. I hope to see you then.

Spring Sessions Begin in One Week
MamaDances has two wonderful programs to choose from: Mom and Baby Classes for Mothers with Babies 2-12 months and Parent Child Classes for Parents with children 1-4 years. Our programs are now being offered at locations in: Swansea, Annex, Danforth (Woodbine), St. Clair W. and Queen St. W. We are also working on developing a class on the Danforth( Broadview) neighbourhood. Please let us know if you would be interested in that one.

Our teacher: Jessica Runge also offers After-school Dance Classes
Grade 1 - 2 ~ starts March 25 (8 weeks), Wednesdays 4 - 5pm Grade 3 - 5 ~ starts March 25 (8 weeks), Wednesdays 5 - 6pm JK/SK ~ starts April 17 (6 weeks only), Fridays 4 - 4:45pm In a fun, inclusive class led by professional Canadian dance-artist, Jessica Runge, students learn age-appropriate dance exercises and games that nurture the artistic voice of each child. Contact [email protected] for registration details. Fees will be pro-rated to accommodate late registration when possible. Class Details: A variety of styles, such as ballet, modern, and more contemporary dance forms, inform the class' approach to movement training. Opportunities to invent movement round-out the program. Each session finishes with an original performance created by and for the children. Location: All classes will be held at Artscape Youngplace, 180 Shaw St., Toronto. Pick-up from some local schools may be available for a small fee.
