Dear friends, family, colleagues and dance enthusiasts,

This summer, despite all the travel, the visiting, the relatives and the stories that a life full of relationships and venture bring, I managed to read a book: Eckhart Tolles' A New Earth. Besides exercising my brain to tackle a Masters Degree, it has helped with many of the difficult things encountered on route. I share this quote:

"All the things that truly matter — beauty, love, creativity, joy, inner peace — arise from beyond the mind." Eckhart Tolle

I am grateful to those of you who have persevered alongside me and with love, faith and commitment to this artistic vision. Once again MamaDances is in flux and requires administrative assistance and an office share. If you are interesting in working with us, or know of something or someone, please let me know.

Teachers Training

Mom and Baby, August 22nd-26th, 2016

A MamaDances teacher has formal professional dance training or its equivalent in dance experience, is acknowledged by peers, has teaching experience and loves babies and children. A MamaDances teacher has dance improvisation skills, and is able to be spontaneous and flexible, while maintaining control and redirecting any detour, back to a main path. She has a good sense of humour and ideally, but not absolutely, is a mother or parent.

Business development expertise needed!

MamaDances continues to look for a business development fairy godparent. We have lots of ideas and opportunities and need some assistance to implement them.

Parent and Child Video Project

If you participated in our Parent Child classes last year, we need your help!

We had the privilege of receiving a Canada Arts Council grant to develop the MamaDances pedagogy. The Council recognizes MamaDances to be a valuable idea and is encouraging the development of the pedagogy behind it in order to train more teachers in the MamaDances method.

For this purpose, we need to videotape classes and exercises. Thanks to all involved, we completed the filming of Mother-Baby Dance classes last spring. We’re now planning to shoot the Parent-Child pedagogy.

Would you be willing to donate some of your time while having fun? We need groups of 6 mothers and/or fathers and their children for each day of filming. Come dance with us!

When:
September 10th and 11th, 17th, and 18th and 24th and 25th.
9am–11 (exact slot to be confirmed soon)

Where:
One of the three following locations will be confirmed:
Conseil des Arts de Montréal, 1210 Rue Sherbrooke E.
UQAM, 840 Rue Cherrier
Studio D , 5445 Rue Gaspé
