Host of many festivals, Montreal is very busy during the summer. We suggest that if you are coming from outside Montreal, you start looking for accommodation as soon as you register for the Training.

If you are coming with you children, we also encourage you to inform us in advance, so we can try to help you with finding childcare.

If many participants come accompanied by their children, the cost of a babysitter during the course could be divided among them.

This family friendly, flexible career path is where you create your own schedule and define your own working hours. You can take complete pride in the development of community in your neighbourhood or city.

As a trained facilitator, you will acquire the ability to offer high-quality mother and baby and/or parents and children dance classes, earn more money as an instructor, and make a positive impact on the lives of mothers and their babies and/or parents and their children - all with complete confidence.

MamaDances provides supplementary revenue to local studios through hourly rental or additional programming, and can provide visibility to local businesses through promotional partnerships and affiliate marketing campaigns. MamaDances can be an addition to programming in community centres, cultural organization, dance schools, studios or other appropriate venues for physical exploration with similar vales.

The founder of MamaDances is a dance artist, and a mother.  The program was built out of necessity, at the convergence of those two roles. The training program for facilitators is the culmination of decades of experience in facilitating Mom and Baby and the Parent and Child Dance Programs in Montreal. Further, the MamaDances approach to postnatal dance has been scientifically and academically validated and documented in: “A Phenomenological Exploration of MamaDances as a Relational Art: The voices of the Mothers Dancing with their Babies” (Trudell, E., 2022). Participants have singled out the MamaDances approach as being the only activity that is structured to be beneficial for mother and baby, parent and child equally. MamaDances has a unique ability to embrace diversity and welcome all movers regardless of dance experience or physical condition. It is the only postnatal dance program that begins from the intention of connection, rather than expectations of form, physical fitness or child development. It is a relational art where parents and children, mothers and babies can strengthen and cultivate their connection to each other through embodied, attuned rhythmic activity based in somatic education, artistic intuition, and traditional, ritual and celabrational dance practices.
