End of Summer Dance Gathering

Join us on Saturday, September 17, 2022, 4-6pm at Cité-des-Hospitalières, 251 Pine Av West, for a little celebration to start the season.

Depending on the weather, there will be indoor and/or outdoor space, for you and your children to dance and explore with others. I will provide accessories for amusement, live and pre-recorded music, facilitated and free range activity. Not only will it be fun to see you, and play together, but we will have special access to the garden area of Cité-des-Hospitalières ( the garden behind the big grey stone wall near Jeanne Mance Parc). We’ll try this location out for a new Family Art Adventure program in the works for the coming months.

ArtistInspire

A Place for Dance in Life and the Classroom

When ArtistsInspire asks educators which discipline their students have the least exposure to at school, the most frequent answer is Dance! Our Artists facilitate engaging movement activities that students can do in their chairs, standing beside their desks, and moving in the space available, whether this space be a classroom, gymnasium, hallway, outdoors, or via video conferencing with students in their own spaces at home.

Radio Canada Report: Dance Classes for Parents and Babies

Eryn`s Mentorship of Lou Poirier Comes to Fruision

Lou Poirier trained with Montreal artist and dancer Eryn Dace Trudell, who has been working in this field for 15 years with her company Mama Dances. Eryn Dace Trudell is currently writing a master's thesis on what happens when a parent dances with their baby. She has developed a training course to share her approach so that artists can share it across the country and beyond.

In Moncton, Lou Poirier decided to focus on babies who were not yet walking.

Happy International Women`s Day ❤️

Happy Women`s Day to all the amazing women around the world!

VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This week Eryn Trudell will be going to Gerald McShane Elementary School where participants at the school will explore movements with the award-winning dance artist, choreographer and MamaDances founder. This will be through games and improvisation structures designed for learning. They will be guided to create their own short dances (1-3 minutes), or group dances, that they can use to take regular body breaks from studying and sitting. Skills will be taught to enhance memory, focus energy, and acknowledge feeling while having fun with movement!

A momentous, one of a kind, mother/father/caregiver and baby dance performance project...

A new choreography by MamaDances Artistic Director, Eryn Dace Trudell – debut performance was held at Lac-Aux-Castors, Montreal on August 25, 2018.

The first edition of MOMentum was made possible by support from The Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, and the marvellous contributions of volunteer dancers, our partners and sponsors and the catalytic invitation from The 16th Edition of Festival Quartiers Danses.

This first edition will pave the way for future events in the upcoming years.
